This is a full-time Project Manager role based locally to Network Rail's East Coast Route, United Kingdom. The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the project, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with company objectives, and will take a hands-on role in delivering training directly to client users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and scheduling project work
- Organising and delivering client training
- Producing clear written updates and reports for both internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
Essential:
- Significant experience in project management disciplines such as planning, managing risks, dependencies, issues, timelines, scope, deliverables and quality
- Experience delivering training or coaching to end users, ensuring they are confident and capable in using new technologies and processes
- Instinctively take initiative to find and fix problems, thinking out of the box to find ways to make things better
- Experience with project management tools (such as Microsoft Project)
- Able to work at weekends, bank holidays and/or overnight when required, to support deployments to shift workers
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Must be able to drive and have a full driving licence
Desirable:
- Practical, hands-on experience of on-the-ground delivery of new technologies, delivering to a range of different kinds of users with different levels of tech-savviness
- Some commercial awareness, such as understanding how to demonstrate the value of our work to clients during and after delivery
- Good report writing skills to clearly communicate outcomes and insights
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in the rail industry would be a significant advantage
