As a Consumer Insights Manager, specializing in qualitative research you will leverage your deep understanding of human behavior and qualitative methodologies to uncover rich, actionable insights that guide the development, marketing, and optimization of top-profile games. You will engage directly with players to understand their motivations, frustrations, and unmet needs—translating these narratives into strategic direction for game development, publishing, and branding teams.
Your everyday missions will include:
- Partnering with internal stakeholders (game designers, product managers, publishing teams) to uncover research needs and recommend tailored qualitative research solutions.
- Designing and leading qualitative research including focus groups, in-depth interviews, ethnographic studies, and online communities.
- Manage a project from A to Z with the support of internal and external toolsets
- Moderating research sessions, facilitating deep discussion and probing for emotional and behavioral insights in a comfortable and engaging way.
- Translating business objectives into research plans that dig into the why behind player behaviors and preferences.
- Analyzing and synthesizing findings from qualitative data—identifying key patterns, emotional drivers, tensions, and opportunities.
- Supporting game development and publishing strategies by identifying unmet needs, testing early concepts, and helping shape player-centric experiences.
- Collaborating closely with quantitative researchers and data analysts to ensure a holistic understanding of player sentiment and behavior.
- Keeping current with gaming trends, cultural shifts, and emerging platforms to ensure research remains relevant and forward-looking.
- Operating independently and with external partners, managing projects from design through to delivery in an agile, global environment.
- Experience in conducting quantitative projects is a strong plus.
Who We Look For
- Minimum 5 years of experience in qualitative research, with a strong record of moderating and managing end-to-end studies.
- Background in market research agencies, gaming, or entertainment industries preferred.
- Expertise in a wide range of qualitative methodologies (e.g., IDIs, FGDs, ethnography, online qual, UX testing).
- Proven ability to moderate across diverse participant groups, with skill in creating a safe, engaging space for discussion.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex human insight into actionable, audience-specific narratives.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and balancing multiple projects with competing priorities.
- High emotional intelligence, curiosity, empathy, and a passion for understanding human behavior.
