Rent Recovery Officer – Ilford We're looking for a proactive Rent Recovery Officer to join our team and help residents manage their rent payments while ensuring the financial sustainability of our housing services. Location: Ilford Salary: £17.11 starting rate Key responsibilities: Managing rent arrears and negotiating repayment plans Providing advice and support to tenants facing financial difficulties Taking appropriate action to recover outstanding rent Working with internal teams and external agencies to prevent homelessness What we're looking for: Experience in income recovery, debt management, or housing services Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills Knowledge of housing legislation and welfare benefits Key Responsibilities To maximise rent recovery from customers in Temporary Accommodation and in Council Housing To receive transfers from the 1st Stage Rent Recovery team and other teams as applicable To ensure tenants with high rent arrears receive focused input to resolve. To conduct an in-depth assessment of customers to understand their situation. To contact tenants in a systematic way that optimises support and rent recovery. To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of action taken to recover income. To help customers manage their arrears as they move between temporary accommodation solutions To contribute to delivery of internal Housing Services processes that fall within the Rent Recovery teams remit Apply today and help make a real difference in people's lives
