Are you an experienced sales and customer-focused leader looking for a role where you can make a real impact? This is an exciting opportunity to join an established publishing organisation with a strong reputation for producing accessible, engaging resources for the Christian community. You will play a key role in driving commercial growth, developing customer relationships and leading a small Customer Care team.

The Role

You will take ownership of sales income targets, developing and delivering initiatives that increase revenue and customer engagement. Working closely with the wider Leadership Team, you will bring together sales, customer experience and market insight to identify opportunities and strengthen the organisation's position in the marketplace.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering sales strategies and initiatives to grow income and customer numbers
  • Leading, coaching and supporting the Customer Care team, setting objectives and improving performance
  • Developing relationships with existing and prospective distribution partners and trade customers
  • Identifying new sales opportunities, including opportunities for overseas growth
  • Using market and competitor insight to identify new opportunities and potential product lines
  • Monitoring customer experience and ensuring consistently high service standards
  • Creating engaging marketing copy to promote products and increase customer demand
  • Supporting wider marketing, PR and external events

About you

You will be an experienced sales or sales marketing professional with a strong track record of generating income and managing projects against commercial targets. You will bring excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and organisational skills, together with a creative, proactive and commercially minded approach.

Experience of CRM systems and line management is important, as is the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a small organisation. You will ideally have experience in digital marketing and be comfortable across related systems and platforms. Knowledge of the Christian liturgical year and Catholic Church would be advantageous.

The Terms

Contract: Temporary initially, with the possibility of becoming permanent
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, worked over a minimum of three days
Location: Chawton, Hampshire (occasional trade visits / attendance at trade events)
Rate: Hourly rate dependent on skills and experience
