The Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Private Client Tax specialist to play a pivotal role within a well-established and growing Private Client team. You’ll lead the delivery of high-quality tax advisory and compliance services to a portfolio of high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, families and trusts. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to business development, mentor colleagues and help shape the future direction of the private client offering. The role offers hybrid working and flexibility, with scope to balance client, leadership and strategic responsibilities in a sustainable way.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and advising a portfolio of high net worth clients on all aspects of personal tax and wealth planning
- Leading complex and ad-hoc advisory projects across areas such as IHT, CGT, trusts, residence and domicile
- Ensuring timely, accurate delivery of personal, trust and related tax returns
- Keeping ahead of UK tax legislation and proactively identifying advisory opportunities for clients
Business Development
- Identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and introduce additional services
- Supporting partners with new client engagement and contributing to marketing and profile-raising activity
- Building and maintaining a strong professional network
People & Team Leadership
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting members of the Private Client team
- Reviewing work, resolving technical queries and maintaining high quality standards
- Working closely with fellow tax leaders to ensure joined-up leadership across the tax function
About You
You’ll be an experienced private client tax professional with strong technical credibility and a commercial, client-focused mindset. You are likely to bring:
- Extensive experience advising high net worth individuals and families
- Deep technical knowledge across areas such as IHT, trusts, CGT, family investment companies, residence and domicile
- Experience of wealth planning, intergenerational planning and complex private structures
- Exposure to international personal tax issues and offshore structures
- A proven track record of winning and developing work within the private client space
- A collaborative leadership style, with a genuine interest in developing others
