The Role Working closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Managers, you'll play an important role in the successful commercial and operational delivery of projects. This is a varied, hands-on position combining procurement, commercial support and project coordination. You'll take ownership of purchasing activities, help monitor project costs and ensure that project documentation and reporting are accurate and up to date. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing the procurement process, from obtaining and comparing supplier quotations through to placing orders and coordinating deliveries to site. Building strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiating where appropriate and identifying opportunities to improve value and efficiency. Supporting the Commercial Manager and Project Managers with valuations, variations, cost tracking, budget monitoring and commercial reporting. Maintaining accurate project financial records, procurement trackers and commercial documentation. Monitoring orders and deliveries, resolving supplier issues and ensuring materials and equipment arrive when required. Supporting Project Managers with project plans, programmes, health and safety documentation and compliance records. Maintaining project management systems, including Procore, and coordinating project close-out documentation. Preparing regular procurement updates and reports, highlighting outstanding orders, potential delays and other issues. Helping to improve systems and processes across the Operations team. You'll be an important link between the commercial, project and supply chain teams, helping to keep projects running smoothly and ensuring everyone has the information they need. The Candidate We're looking for a highly organised, commercially minded individual who enjoys variety, takes pride in getting the details right and is confident managing multiple priorities. You'll bring: Experience in a commercial support, procurement, project coordination or Assistant Quantity Surveyor role within construction, fit-out or refurbishment. A good understanding of procurement processes, supplier management and construction project delivery. Experience maintaining project records, tracking costs and coordinating documentation. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines. Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors. Good IT skills, particularly Excel, and experience using project or document management systems. An understanding of construction health and safety requirements and basic construction contract principles. A full UK driving licence. Experience within workplace fit-out or commercial interiors would be particularly welcome, as would exposure to valuations, variations and commercial reporting. Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software would also be an advantage. Above all, you'll be proactive, dependable and happy to take ownership of your responsibilities, with a collaborative approach and an interest in developing your commercial expertise. Terms Salary:Up to £60k FTE, pro rata if working part-time hours. Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Office-based, with excellent transport links and plenty of free on-site parking. Hours: From 30 hours per week up to full-time. The business offers flexibility around working patterns, with part-time hours potentially spread over four or five days. Earlier start and finish times are also possible, allowing you to structure your working day around other commitments.
