A CQS accredited firm is looking for a paralegal to work in the conveyancing department at their office located a 5 minute walk from Finchley Central Underground Station.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- File Management: Assisting with or managing a varied caseload of freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity.
- Document Drafting: Preparing contract packs, transfer deeds, mortgage deeds, and completion statements.
- Client Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact for clients, estate agents, and mortgage lenders to provide updates and resolve queries.
- Searches and Due Diligence: Ordering and reviewing property searches, investigating titles, and handling enquiries.
- Post-Completion: Handling SDLT (Stamp Duty Land Tax) returns, Land Registry applications (AP1, RX1 forms), and finalising file closures.
- Compliance: Ensuring all procedures adhere to SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) and CQS (Conveyancing Quality Scheme) requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous solid experience in a conveyancing or residential property environment (typically 1+ years) is desirable.
