We are looking for a Product Designer to help shape how enterprises understand, govern, and trust their AI agents. Geordie is building category-defining tooling for agent visibility, governance, and risk. The design challenge is real: AI agent behaviour is complex, often opaque, and the stakes for customers are high. You will be the second design hire after our Head of Product Design, which means you will help set the foundation; the design language, the component library, the patterns that everything else is built on.

This is not a role where design is a layer applied at the end. We ship multiple times a day, designers work closely alongside engineers and customers, and we actively encourage designers to use AI agents to write code and get closer to the product. We don't have Product Managers. Design and engineering partner directly to figure out what to build; our engineers are deeply product-minded, close to customers, and genuinely want to solve the right problem, not just ship to spec. You will define problems together, shape scope together, and own outcomes together. If you have ever wanted to own something end to end, this is it.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end design of core product experiences, from early concept through to shipped and iterated.
  • Build Geordie's design system from the ground up; the tokens, components, patterns, and documentation that the whole team will rely on.
  • Lead customer discovery and research; running interviews, identifying patterns, and bringing customer insight into every design decision.
  • Work directly with customers to test your thinking early and close the loop between insight and shipped product.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers; pairing, reviewing, and increasingly using AI tools to prototype and contribute to the codebase yourself.
  • Contribute to product direction: you will be in the room where decisions are made, not handed a spec to execute.
  • Keep a strong point of view on what good design looks like in a security and governance product; clear, trustworthy, and built for expert users.

What We're Looking For

  • The most important thing is that you care deeply about customers and can move fast without losing quality. You are a strong practitioner; you can go from whiteboard to high-fidelity quickly, and you know when each is appropriate.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity. We are Series A, the product is evolving, and the domain of AI agent governance is genuinely new. You find that energising, not unsettling.
  • You have strong opinions about design systems and component architecture, and experience building or significantly contributing to one. You can articulate why decisions were made and defend them clearly.
  • You work well in a collaborative engineering culture. You are comfortable pair-designing with engineers, reviewing pull requests for design quality, and using AI tools to accelerate your own work.

Requirements

  • Significant experience as a product designer, with a portfolio that demonstrates complex UX problem-solving; not just polished visuals.
  • Experience building or leading a design system, including tokens, components, and documentation.
  • Proven ability to work across the full design process: research, concept, detailed design, and handoff.
  • Strong product thinking; you can define the problem, question the brief, and help decide what to build, not just how it should look.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; you can align stakeholders, present work with clarity, and receive feedback well.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, iterative environment where requirements evolve quickly.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience designing for security, developer, or enterprise SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with AI agent tooling, observability platforms, or data-dense interfaces.
  • Experience writing code, even basic frontend, or using AI tools to prototype in the browser.
  • Background working at an early-stage startup where you built things from scratch.

Why This Role

AI agents are changing how companies operate, and the question of how to govern them safely is only going to grow. Geordie is building the platform enterprises rely on to answer that question. You will join at a point where design is still being defined. There is no legacy system to work around, no established playbook to follow; just a hard problem, a sharp team, and a genuine opportunity to shape how a new category is understood. You will work with real customers, see the impact of your work quickly, and have the scope to grow as the company does.

Our Values

  • Solve What Matters: We listen intently and stay focused on what truly matters to our customers. If it doesn't help them navigate real-world agentic adoption and risk, it's probably not worth building.
  • Build, Learn, Iterate: We favour momentum over perfection; testing, learning, and evolving through action. It's how we move fast and get better, together.
  • Kind, Not Comfortable: We're honest, respectful, and unafraid to challenge each other. We believe doing great work should feel good, too. Kindness makes that possible.
