Job Description
Introduction
Our Client is a corporately owned practice seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Perth. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and forward-thinking environment within a well-equipped, purpose-built practice.
The position includes participation in a 1 in 5 OOH rota, with a day off following a weeknight on call and a long weekend off after working an on-call weekend. Nurses are on site 24/7 to assist with emergencies, triage calls, and care for inpatients. The diary is structured with 15-minute routine appointments, double appointments for complex cases, same-day slots reserved for emergencies, and 30 minutes of catch-up time before finishing. Three days per week finish at 5pm, supporting a strong work-life balance.
Role Description
The Veterinary Surgeon will manage a varied caseload across consultations, surgery, diagnostics, and emergencies. The role includes opportunities to develop interests, with certificates actively supported and funded. Progression to a Senior/Clinical Director role may be available for the right candidate. Clinical freedom is encouraged, and the team is keen to manage cases in-house wherever possible.
Team Size
The practice has a friendly and supportive team of Vets, highly skilled RVNs, and support staff. The team benefits from 2 trained VetGDP advisors and visiting specialists for orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries.
This is a single-site, purpose-built RCVS-accredited practice in Perthshire, voted the 5th best place to live in the UK. Facilities include 6 consult rooms, an imaging suite, a dental suite with dental X-ray, 2 theatres, an endoscope, multiparameter monitoring, and full in-house lab equipment.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team, building strong client relationships, and delivering excellent standards of patient care. They will be proactive in developing clinical interests and may aspire to progress into a senior role with management responsibility.
