Our Client’s practice in Clondalkin, Dublin has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly team on a maternity leave cover. With a 25-year commitment to providing trusted and affordable veterinary care, they are known for a supportive, upbeat clinic culture and loyal clientele. This role is ideal for someone who is progressive, enthusiastic, and capable of leading a dedicated nursing team during the maternity leave of the current practice manager, with the potential for a permanent position.
Working Hours / Rota
The position is full time, consisting of a 40-hour work week over 4 days. This includes a mix of clinical nursing hours and administrative responsibilities. The weekend/bank holiday rota is 1 in 4.
Role Description
The Lead Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the nursing team, managing the daily clinical flow, and ensuring the highest standards of patient and client care. The role includes both hands-on nursing and administrative tasks. This position begins as maternity leave cover but offers the opportunity to transition into a permanent leadership role for the right candidate.
Team Size
The team currently comprises 5 vets, 5 qualified veterinary nurses, and 1 animal care assistant. The team enjoys a fun, collaborative environment with strong camaraderie and mutual support.
Practice Details
The clinic is equipped with modern medical and surgical facilities including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, and an in-house laboratory. If needed, additional equipment is considered to support the team’s capabilities. The practice recently joined forces with VetPartners, enabling increased support and benefit offerings.
