Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role manages end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate, timely salary payments, tax withholdings, and deductions for employees while maintaining strict legal compliance for Tempur UK and Tempur Sealy International Ltd. Duties include calculating wages, managing benefits, resolving queries, and reconciling data. This role requires proficiency in payroll systems - Workday in particular. Working closely with the UK and International Finance and HR teams, this role will report directly to the HR Manager, providing first line of expertise and communications on payroll computations.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end company payroll cycles for 2 Companies, based on time records, commission/bonus calculations, LTIP share awards, benefits, and deductions.
  • Maintain payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.
  • Ensure strict adherence to, and compliance with, national tax laws, employment legislation, and reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to Company payroll policies and procedures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact to resolve employee payroll queries and discrepancies.
  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in timesheet, commission/bonus calculations and payroll records.
  • Company liaison with HMRC.
  • Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review.
  • Prepare P11D/P60/P45 for manager review.
  • Assist with internal/external audits. Resolve audit queries related to payroll.
  • Upload company pensions on a monthly basis, ensuring reconciliation with the payroll.
  • Managing the company private medical scheme.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience:

  • Strong Workday payroll experience is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll processing, tax codes, employment laws, and payroll regulations.
  • Experience of transition to new payroll system, Workday.
  • Excellent MS Office 365 – Outlook, Word and Excel skills.
  • Able to build reports, transfer and interpret data, with a high attention to detail for accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to maintain good relationships and work collaboratively.
  • A team player, with a high flexible approach to their day and able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to explain complex payroll information clearly to employees.
  • Strict handling of sensitive and confidential employee financial and personal data as well as Company information.

General:

  • The role will be based at our UK Head Office in Hayes, Middlesex.
  • 4 days in the office, Friday at home. 1 day of the week will be at the Uxbridge office.
  • Free onsite parking provided at both sites.
