Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced Youth Justice Service Practitioner to join their team based in London JOB DETAILS PAY RATE: £35 -£36 per hour WORK TYPE: Temporary WORK PATTERN: Full Time LOCATION: London JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Youth Outreach & Custody Intervention Manager to start ASAP. The postholder will manage a team of sessional Detached Youth Outreach Workers and Custody Based Youth Workers, ensuring high-quality delivery of outreach, group work programmes, and custody diversion interventions JOB DESCRIPTION The duties and responsibilities of the role will include: Line manage sessional outreach and custody-based youth workers Coordinate rotas and provide supervision and quality assurance Ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, and organisational policies Monitor staff performance, caseloads, and outcomes Oversee detached youth outreach across the Borough Support delivery of group work, school workshops, and community sessions Promote positive engagement with young people, families, and community partners Contribute to reducing community tensions through proactive youth work THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies: Proven experience in youth work, particularly detached, outreach, or custody-based settings Strong understanding of issues affecting young people Demonstrated ability to build rapport and engage young people effectively Experience managing staff or leading teams Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and engage children at vulnerable moments Strong organisational and case management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work evenings and weekends Current Enhanced DBS Please be advised that only candidates that have the specific skills and experiences required for this role will be shortlisted and submitted to our client for review.
