Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Somerset, are looking for an experienced Trading Standards Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Enforcement Operations.
Position: Trading Standards Officer
Rate: £35 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: 3 months with Possible extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Responsibilities:
- Investigate offenders and make recommendations as to the most effective course of action to be taken to ensure infringing conduct is stopped.
- Assist, as part of a project team, in devising & delivering targeted enforcement campaigns in relation to particular areas of legislation, trading practices or sectors of trade
- Use statutory powers to enforce trading standards legislation, as in the suspension of unsafe goods for sale, the collection and preservation of evidence, the seizure of goods, equipment or documents, the execution of search warrants, the formal interviewing of suspected offenders under PACE rules.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working for a Local Authority or similar organisation.
- Experience working in a Trading Standards Officer or similar role
