Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southwest England, are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to join their team and play a crucial role in their human resources operations.

Position: HR Consultant (Job Evaluation)

Salary: £42,839 per annum

Contract Duration: Permanent

Working Arrangement: Mainly Remote

Purpose: To provide specialist HR advice and guidance on a wide range of HR issues, in accordance with Bristol City Council’s HR policy and procedural frameworks and relevant legislation. To lead and manage complex HR casework and HR initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and develop HR policies to ensure clarity, fairness and compliance with employment legislation.
  • Provide guidance on complex HR casework, including conduct, performance and attendance.
  • Act as a key HR link with managers and colleagues to promote consistent and fair people practices.
  • Support organisational projects requiring HR or policy expertise, particularly those shaping workforce culture.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, or appropriate and demonstrable experience, knowledge and skills with commitment to become a Chartered Member of the CIPD.
  • Proven track record of independently and confidently advising on complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, restructures, TUPE, investigations and dispute resolution.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
