Senior Procurement Officer (Child and Public Health)

Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in East of England, are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their Corporate Services.

Position: Senior Procurement Officer (Child and Public Health)
Rate: £330 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Aug 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Job Purpose:

• To provide strategic and operational support to the Manager for Commissioning & Procurement (Children’s & Public Health) by leading on commissioning and procurement projects and activity within the Children’s & Public Health area and wider Strategic Commissioning & Procurement function by undertaking duties commensurate with the level of the post as required.

Job Duties:

• Support the Manager for Commissioning & Procurement (Children’s & Public Health).
• Provision of procurement expertise in terms of regulatory, commercial advice & guidance to Children’s & Public Health directorate for commissioning and procurement activity.
• Develop, lead and deliver tender exercises and commissioning
  projects for higher value/risk procurement projects within the agreed Children’s & Public Health service commissioning programme.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent and with experience of working in local government or the public sector; knowledge of the role elected members play.
• Substantial experience at a senior level in relation to contracting, procurement and commissioning.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
