Our client, a busy local authority in West London, is looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Protection Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their Environmental Operations.
Position: Senior Environmental Protection Officer
Rate: £34.34 p/h umbrella
Contract Duration: 5 months with a possible extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Take a key role in undertaking and assisting with Environmental Protection and noise nuisance related investigations and carrying out law enforcement.
- Undertake reactive visits and proactive investigations, taking any necessary remedial actions in line with agreed levels of competency.
- Assist in the production of reports to council committee and other bodies.
- Periodically check signed statutory notices produced by junior team members in relation to quality, accuracy and appropriateness in line with delegated duties.
Qualifications:
- Degree, Diploma, Apprenticeship or Certificate in Environmental Health.
- Valid UK driving licence with a personal vehicle.
- Experience of preparing and giving evidence as a witness at court / tribunal hearing / council committees.
- Previous experience working for a Local Authority or similar organisation.
- Previous experience working within a Senior Environmental Protection Officer or similar.
