Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in the East of England, are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team and play a crucial role within their highways asset operations.
Position: Senior Engineer
Rate: £384.77 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Aug 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose: To maintain highway assets, these include 165 bridges, 199 culverts, 13 retaining walls and 2 tanks.
Job Duties:
- Assist the team in the delivery of the annual structures maintenance programme.
- Reporting to the Team Leader.
- Assist in the identification, development and delivery of structures maintenance projects.
- Key responsibilities will include inspections, feasibility and design, stakeholder liaison and the preparation of specifications and drawings.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Incorporated Engineer status or to be working towards Chartered status (preferred).
- At least 5 years post qualification experience in a related or relevant profession.
- Experience in the inspection of structures and the preparation of inspection reports.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
