JOB DESCRIPTIONThe duties and responsibilities of the role will include: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Registered Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of children\’s residential care services. This pivotal role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with Ofsted standards
Leadership & Service Oversight
Provide strategic leadership to staff, promoting a culture of care, quality, and compliance.
Oversee day-to-day operations and guide Team Leaders and Managers to deliver best-in-class services.
Recruit, develop, and mentor staff, creating a supportive and high-performing workforce.
Embed a consistent, values-led approach aligned with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding protocols.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Maintain full compliance with Ofsted standards and statutory requirements.
Lead inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes.
Develop policies and frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
Care Planning & Young People s Outcomes
Support individualised care plans that promote well-being, independence, and education.
Champion access to education, therapy, recreation, and vocational pathways for all young people.
Ensure a nurturing and inclusive living environment that reflects a child-first ethos.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEThe successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
5+ years of experience in children s residential care
At least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to obtain it)
In-depth understanding of Ofsted regulations and children s care standards
A passion for making a real, positive difference in young people s lives
Strong relationships and council knowledge across South London and surrounding areas
