JOB SUMMARY
As Principal Service Lead, you will play a pivotal role in building a strong, relationship-based, locality-driven model of support for children, young people, and families. You will strengthen and embed our Family Safeguarding model, improve outcomes through joined-up pathways, and provide confident senior oversight of practice, both in hours and as part of the out-of-hours leadership rota.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
- Leading the integration of Family Help, Family Safeguarding, and Adolescent Safeguarding services
- Transitioning to a locality-based model with accessible, place-based support
- Championing high-quality, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practice
- Driving performance, quality assurance, and inspection readiness
- Building strong partnerships with Early Help, Police, Health, Education, and community services
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
- Significant leadership experience in children’s social care
- Strong expertise in safeguarding and risk management
- A passion for early intervention and relational practice
- Commitment to innovation, transformation, and workforce stability
- Confidence to make complex decisions, including out-of-hours leadership
