Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy public sector client in Stoke-on-Trent, are looking for an experienced Payments Assistant to join their team and play a crucial role in their accounts payable operations.
Position: Payments Assistant
Rate: £17.84 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Dec 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose:
- To assist in providing an efficient, effective and quality accounts payable function.
Job Responsibilities:
- To assist in ensuring that all forms of supplier payments are accurately and promptly processed.
- Administer the invoice mailbox on a rota basis.
- To assist in the maintenance of the payments system.
- To negotiate with suppliers in relation to dispute and payment terms.
Job Requirements:
- A good knowledge of Local Authority or similar accounts payable systems and processes.
- Computer literate in finance systems and Microsoft office.
- Good oral and written communication.
