Job Purpose
To be the Council's professional accounting and system lead for Oracle Cloud and to coordinate complex financial processes within the Oracle cloud system, manage financial data integrity, resolve user issues, and develop reports to help support key business decisions.
Job Duties
- Focus on system upgrades, user support, and preparing data-driven insights to support business decisions.
- The role requires a blend of specialist accounting knowledge, strong technical skills in the Oracle Cloud suite, and problem-solving abilities to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Advise on and maintain appropriate financial and system controls and challenge senior managers as necessary in this regard.
- Analysing, designing, and managing the Council's complex financial systems to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Qualified CIPFA (or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud, including specific modules like Financials, EPM (Enterprise Performance Management), and Projects.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
