JOB SUMMARY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Consultant to join our Adult Mental Health Social Care Service, supporting the continuation and development of the Mental Health Duty Team. This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for an experienced Social Worker or Occupational Therapist who is passionate about high-quality practice and keen to develop their leadership and management experience. Hybrid working arrangements are in place, enabling you to work flexibly from home or from a range of office bases across the county.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
- Allocating duty work and providing professional support to Assistant Practitioners on duty
- Managing a range of urgent and complex work, including:
- Protection of Property duties
- Crisis assessments
- Commissioning urgent packages of care
- Initial management of safeguarding referral contacts
- Supporting the ongoing Test and Learn pilot with our mental health care provider
- Holding a small caseload of complex cases and leading on specialist areas of practice
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
- Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Occupational Therapy (CSS or CQSW accepted)
- Registered with Social Work England or HCPC (as appropriate)
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience within health or social care
- Experience of supervising others
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and social care legislation
- Experience of working with complex cases, safeguarding, risk assessment and crisis situations
- Ability to use electronic case management systems and produce high-quality reports
