Position: Medical Negligence Solicitor (Part Time - Maternity Cover)
Salary: £50,000
Location: Hertfordshire (Hybrid)

THE ROLE
We are working with a well-established Law Firm in Hertfordshire who are looking for a Medical Negligence Solicitor to join their team on a part time basis (3 days per week) on maternity cover. The contract is expected to last 6 months between September 2026 - March 2027 but can potentially be expanded.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
- Run claimant Medical Negligence cases (estimated 30 cases at various stages) providing high-quality legal advice to clients.
- Cover areas such as misdiagnosis, psychiatric illness and fatal cases.
- Manage your caseload independently with occasional support from senior lawyers.
- Compile evidence, identify legal issues and instruct counsels/experts.
- Maintain high communication with Defendants.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
- Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years' experience in Medical Negligence matters.
- Dedicated to providing an excellent client service.
- Strong communicator, both verbally and non-verbally.
- Willing to work part-time 3 days per week.
