Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced Senior Lawyer (Childcare) to join their team and play a crucial role in their law & governance operations.
Position: Senior Lawyer (Childcare)
Rate: £50-55 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Dec 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Purpose: To provide legal advice and assistance on all aspects of Children's Social Services Law.
Job Responsibilities:
- To provide high level specialist and proactive legal advice to the Council, its Cabinet, Committee members and senior officers and other external clients on all issues arising in relation to childcare matters.
- To deal with complex individual casework and conduct litigation arising in the area of responsibility.
- To attend court or tribunal or public inquiries - conduct high quality advocacy in the High Court, Family Court, Coroners Court, including all hearing up to trial and appeals and including complex hearings.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - Desirable.
- Admitted solicitor or qualified Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with litigation practice rights.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
