Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southeast England, are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team and play a crucial role within their pension fund accounting operations.
Position: Senior Financial Accountant
Rate: £600 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (3 Months) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose: You will take operational ownership of fund accounting, reporting, controls, budgeting and senior stakeholder engagement, ensuring business as usual continuity and supporting the year end cycle.
Job Duties:
- Financial Controls & Governance: ensure robust reconciliations, controls, compliance and risk management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: manage the Surrey Pension Team budget and Fund forecasts.
- Cashflow & Banking Operations: oversee all income, banking transactions, allocations and KPIs.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- At least 1 year experience within a Senior Financial Accountant role or equivalent.
- Strong LGPS or public sector finance experience.
- Fully qualified accountant: ACA / ACCA / CIPFA.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
