Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Senior Category Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in their operations.

Rate: £450 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Dec 2026) Possible Extension

Purpose: This post exists to provide expert procurement and commercial organisational leadership and risk management to influence practice in the Regeneration, Economy & Housing Development (REHD) division of the Council.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide enhanced construction procurement support to the Housing Regeneration and Delivery service.
  • Provision of procurement support in the development of the Regeneration, Economy & Housing Development division and oversee strategy and its implementation including procurement of essential contracts identified as part of the delivery of the strategy.
  • Oversee contracts negotiations and the contract management for major regeneration works and services procured by Housing Development, as well as smaller day-to-day purchases, both of Professional Services and Works contracts.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • Experience and exhibiting a high level of competence in Public Sector Procurement and Commercials - with knowledge of Public Procurement Act 2023 (and Public Contract Regulations 2015), also other sector procurements, in the private-sector.
  • Proven experience of working in Regeneration, Housing, Public Realm, Energy and Corporate Property Division related environments at a senior level.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
