Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Rental Income Support Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their income maximisation operations.
Position: Rental Income Support Officer
Rate: £31.71 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Sept 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose: Manage a patch of properties that requires responsibility for maximising rental income of approximately £70m per annum.
Job Duties:
- Work to carry out all relevant operational and legal processes to ensure current tenant housing rental income is maximised in line with statutory regulations, council policy, operational procedures, court pre-action protocol and performance indicators.
- Manage a patch of rent accounts and be the first point of contact for residents regarding all types of queries ranging from accounts in credit where the resident is requesting a refund through to attending evictions.
- Maximise income through early intervention as soon as rent accounts are in arrears with the key emphasis being on personal contact through phone calls and home visits.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of housing and other relevant legislation, the regulatory framework which governs housing, associated case law, Welfare Reforms and the court pre-action protocol.
- Experience of income management in a social housing environment and of dealing successfully with the challenges.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
