Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced Registered Manager to join their team based in Northampton. The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Providing strategic leadership to staff, promoting a culture of care, quality, and compliance.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations and guiding Team Leaders and Managers to deliver best-in-class services.
  • Recruiting, developing, and mentoring staff, creating a supportive and high-performing workforce.
  • Embedding a consistent, values-led approach aligned with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding protocols.
  • Maintaining full compliance with Ofsted standards and statutory requirements.
  • Leading inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes.
  • Developing policies and frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Supporting individualised care plans that promote well-being, independence, and education.
  • Championing access to education, therapy, recreation, and vocational pathways for all young people.
  • Ensuring a nurturing and inclusive living environment that reflects a child-first ethos.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

  • 5+ years of experience in children’s residential care
  • At least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to obtain it)
  • In-depth understanding of Ofsted regulations and children’s care standards
  • A passion for making a real, positive difference in young people’s lives
