Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in South East London, are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their Finance Operation.
Position: Procurement Officer
Rate: £29.53 per hour Umbrella
Contract Duration: 4 months with Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Duties:
- Be responsible for leading and managing the tendering and awarding of a portfolio of contracts of up to £5-10m per annum in line with the Local Authorities best value duty.
- Contribute to the development of a culture of performance management of contracts to ensure maximum value and social value benefits are achieved from contracts within the defined service area.
- Assist in the development and promotion of best practice in supplier relationship management to minimise potential risk to the Local Authority as a result of suppliers failing to deliver a contract.
Job Requirements:
- If not already qualified, be seeking qualified status and membership in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
- Previous experience working as a Procurement Officer or similar role.
- Previous experience working for a Local Authority or similar organisation.
