Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Private Rented Offers Team Leader to join their team and play a crucial role within their Housing Needs service.
Position: Private Rented Offers Team Leader
Rate: £6.62 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Jan 2027) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Purpose:
- To lead and manage the allocation of accommodation secured in the Private Rented Sector, including leased accommodation, to meet the council’s statutory duties under part VI and part VII of the Housing Act 1996 to provide temporary accommodation or end the main homelessness duty with a suitable Private Rented Sector Offer (PRSO).
Job Responsibilities:
- To lead the effective allocation of the Council’s supply of private rented and leased accommodation and ensure the resolution of accepted homeless cases and to use powers under relevant legislation to bring the council’s housing duties to an end.
- To ensure the council’s compliance with all statutory requirements and associated case law in the allocation of Temporary Accommodation and PRSO to meet and end statutory homelessness duties.
- To ensure effective management of complaints and enquiries across the Allocations team and undertake statutory reviews of Council’s decisions, including attending court on behalf of the Council in complex judicial review cases and/or directing and briefing counsel.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - Essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of homelessness and related legislation
and case-law. - Experience of making and/or reviewing suitable offers of accommodation.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
