Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Pensions Specialist to join their team and play a crucial role within their LGPS services.
Position: Pensions Specialist
Rate: £34.96 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (July 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in the office)
Job Purpose: To fully manage the Fund employer process end to end of employers leaving and joining the Fund.
Job Duties:
- To assist the team by being a technical reference point for LGPS legislation and assist in managing audits, valuations and legal and actuarial relationships.
- To co-ordinate and manage the pension Fund’s actuary to provide reports and associated information required for the setting up of new fund employers.
- To work closely with those who are letting commercial contracts to ensure that tender documents accurately reflect the requirements of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) related to those staff subject to TUPE transfer.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of LGPS administration.
- Passes in GCE/GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Proven ability to be able to work and manage relationships.
- A full and thorough working knowledge of the LGPS and the scheme regulations.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
