Are you an experienced Lecturer with a background in Media, Construction or Multiskills? Our client, a Further Education College in London, is looking for a passionate Lecturer to join their team and support learners across vocational programmes.
Position: Lecturer – Media / Construction
Salary:£35,112 to £47,148
Contract Duration: 5 months with possible extension
Essential: Enhanced DBS required for this position
Purpose:
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based teaching across Media and Construction programmes, supporting learners to develop vocational, technical and employability skills.
- Help learners achieve their qualifications and prepare for employment, apprenticeships or further study.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver lessons across areas including animation, graphics, film, television, digital content creation, carpentry, construction processes, tools and workshop practice.
- Plan lessons, schemes of work and assessment activities, adapting learning to meet the needs of students with SEND.
- Assess and track learner progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate student records.
- Support students with personal development, safeguarding, wellbeing and preparation for employment or further study.
- Work with employers and external partners to support work experience, industry placements and enrichment opportunities.
- Contribute to recruitment, induction, curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
Job Requirements:
- Relevant Level 3 qualification or above in Media, Construction or a related vocational subject.
- Teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience delivering vocational programmes and practical learning activities.
- Knowledge and experience of Media subjects such as animation, film, television, sound production or digital content creation.
- Knowledge and experience of Construction / Multiskills, including carpentry, tools, materials and workshop practice.
- Experience planning, assessing and tracking learner progress.
- Understanding of teaching and assessment approaches for learners with SEND.
- Ability to use industry-standard media software, digital technologies and equipment.
- Strong communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
