Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Southeast London, are looking for an experienced Internal Audit & Anti-Fraud Auditor to join their team and play a crucial role in their Finance & Legal Services.
Position: Internal Audit & Anti-Fraud Auditor
Rate: Β£39 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Feb 2027) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid - 2 days in the office
Job Purpose:
- Manage independent reviews of council systems and leads investigations to stop financial corruption or misuse of public funds.
Job Responsibilities:
- Internal Audit: Make and run risk-based audit plans to test if council departments follow financial rules.
- Fraud Investigation: Lead inquiries into internal and external fraud, corruption, or financial abuse.
- Reporting: Write clear audit reports and an annual governance statement for the council's Audit Committee.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Practical experience of working as an Auditor in an Internal Audit
environment, including experience of conducting complex audit
reviews. - A relevant qualification from an organization such as the Chartered
Institute of Internal Auditors (CIIA) or the Chartered Institute of
Public Finance (CIPFA) or similar. - Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
