Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Housing Advice and Homeless Prevention Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their Housing Operations

Position: Housing Advice and Homeless Prevention Officer
Rate: £32.51 ph Umbrella
Contract Duration: Temporary (Sep 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 day in the office)

Job Duties:

• To assess and determine applications from homeless households within the terms of part VII of the Housing Act 1996.
• To actively manage case work in accordance to expected standards of timeliness and quality.
• To investigate and discharge the Local Authority’s homeless duty where appropriate for cases where there is concern that temporary accommodation has been abandoned, sub-let or misused.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in working in a front facing team interviewing and
  assessing clients with a need for assistance.
• To have a comprehensive and cross cutting understanding of
  relevant policy and strategy areas, including, but not exclusively: A. The Housing Act 1996 part VI & VII and all associated homeless legislation
  B. Codes of guidance from central government.
  C. DWP guidance and benefits regulations.
• The ability to build and maintain a thorough working knowledge in using data and case management systems to ensure data quality and effective sharing of work.
• 2 Years experience working for a Local Authority or similar organisation
• 2 years experience working within a Homelessness Role or similar
