Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority based in East London, are looking for an experienced Gas Engineer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Neighborhood & Housing operations.
Position: Gas Engineer
Rate: £31.54 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Dec 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Purpose: To provide a high quality cyclical, planned and reactive repairs and maintenance service to internal and external elements of occupied and unoccupied properties, public buildings and associated external areas.
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out to a high standard all aspects of service, repair, maintain and install gas hot water and heating systems and appliances.
- To carry out a wide range of gas and other associated works.
- Gas servicing of appliances and gas carcasses in line with the annual Gas Servicing Programme.
- To diagnose faults, repair and maintain gas appliances, central heating; hot water systems and components including traditional and modern boilers, circulation pumps, motorised valves, radiators, alterations to pipe work (gas and water), central heating controls etc.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation - preferred but not essential.
- Experience and knowledge to install a modern boiler, gas fire, warmplan, balanced flue wall heater including wiring controls and power from adjacent spur.
- Experience and knowledge to diagnose faults, repair and maintain gas.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
