Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Northwest London, are looking for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join their team and play a crucial role within their food safety operations.
Position: Environmental Health Officer (Food Safety)
Salary: £42,771 per annum
Contract Duration: Permanent
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose: To provide technical professional services with the overall aim of protecting and improving the health and wellbeing of every resident, worker, and visitor within the Borough.
Job Duties:
- To carry out and focus on complex Health and Safety investigations.
- To carry out Food Safety Inspections across the borough.
- To investigate, survey, inspect, report on and resolve cases arising from food premises including food hygiene, health and safety, infectious disease, drainage, pests and refuse and carry out legal enforcement action and other food safety related activities and services.
- To investigate occurrences/suspected cases of notifiable diseases or other illnesses as necessary and liaise with Outbreak Control Teams as necessary.
- To carry out enforcement action as appropriate.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- A qualified Environmental Health Officer who is competent in food safety and registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board; or An officer holding a Higher Certificate in Food Control or Higher Certificate in Food Inspection, with demonstrable competence and recent experience in food hygiene & food standards inspections.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
