Disrepair Surveyor in London

Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in South London, are looking for an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to join their team and play a crucial role within their assets and repairs operations.

Position: Disrepair Surveyor
Rate: £300 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Nov 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Job Purpose:

• The Property team are responsible for the delivery of excellent repairs and maintenance services to all Croydon residents this will include day to day reactive repairs, managing of contracts and contractors, complaint handling, issue resolution, empty homes, disrepair and general surveying duties.

Job Duties:

• You will Act as key liaison point for disrepair queries and support the Disrepair manager in providing the ‘expert’ link and back-office support to other repairs staff and to the other housing sections.
• Undertake stock validation surveys as directed.
• Ensure that contractors provide value for money through checking of invoices and valuations, undertaking post inspection as required.
• Surveying properties, specifying disrepair works and raising orders to contractors.
• Undertaking pre-inspections, works in progress inspections and post-inspections.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• A sound knowledge and understanding of building and health and safety at work legislation.
• Experience of property maintenance work, preferably gained within housing, that has included undertaking, managing contracts and performance, property inspection, diagnosing common property defects and supervising the work of construction contractors and consultants.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
