Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Disabled Facilities Grant Officers to join their team and play a crucial role in their Accessibility Operations.
Position: Disabled Facilities Grant Officers
Rate: £36.78 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: 3 Months
Work arrangement: Hybrid
Job Responsibilities:
- To assess housing conditions and management in DFG Home Adaptations Service, give advice and take action as necessary
- To assess and process applications for Disabled Facilities and Minor Adaptations Grants and where necessary monitor adaptation works to enable disabled residents to remain living independently in their homes.
- To process applications for property licences
- To provide a service to Private Housing Sector that makes a real difference to residents’ lives by ensuring that conditions and management in private residential accommodation are of a satisfactory standard.
- Experience in administering DFG’s and interpreting recommendations provided by an Occupational Therapist
- Experience of surveying residential properties and preparing specifications, drawings, and schedules of work
- A knowledge of building construction and ability to draw up a schedule of works required for a disabled facility grant based on an inspection
