Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, based in the South East London, are looking for a Designated Teacher to support looked-after and previously looked-after learners.
Position: Designated Teacher
Salary: £33,762 - £ £44,027
Contract Duration: Fixed term until December 2026
Purpose:
Support looked-after and previously looked-after learners, helping to promote their educational achievement, safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusion.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting looked-after and previously looked-after learners with their academic, pastoral and wellbeing needs.
- Coordinating Personal Education Plans (PEPs), reviews and multi-agency meetings.
- Working with teachers, carers, social workers, Virtual School representatives and other professionals.
- Monitoring attendance, progress and wellbeing, while identifying and escalating concerns where required.
Job Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people within an education, pastoral or safeguarding setting.
- Understanding of the needs of looked-after and previously looked-after learners.
- Experience contributing to PEPs, statutory reviews or multi-agency meetings.
- Strong safeguarding, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
