Asbestos Manager in London

Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West London, are looking for an experienced Asbestos Manager to join their team and play a crucial role within their housing compliance operations.

Position: Asbestos Manager
Rate: £35.18 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Aug 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (1 day in the office)

Job Purpose:

• To act as the Appointed Person under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) for the management asbestos across the housing, corporate and commercial portfolio.

Job Duties:

• To lead on and support the organisations’ requirement to manage asbestos, fulfil its legal obligations and follow best practice.
• Provide advice and guidance relating to the management, removal and remediation of asbestos containing materials to all departments across the Council. This to include, when applicable advice / guidance in relation to procurement of both asbestos specific contracts and those for works which foreseeably could have impact on ACM.
• To manage asbestos surveying consultants and removal / remediation contractors along with associated contract management (financial, performance etc.).

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• Asbestos management in buildings P405.
• Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings P402.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
