Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Bedfordshire, are looking for an experienced Legal Officer - Right to Buy to join their team and play a crucial role within their property services.
Position: Legal Officer - Right to Buy
Rate: £25 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Aug 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose: To assist in the provision of an effective, efficient comprehensive and professional in-house legal service to proactively progress allocated Right to Buy cases in accordance with all the relevant legislative and procedural requirements in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Job Duties:
- Manage a high-volume caseload of Right to Buy Matters under strict deadlines.
- Draft and prepare legal documentation and deal with all enquiries, progressing matters to completion and dealing with all post completion formalities.
- Deal with disposals of small parcels of freehold land including drafting of appropriate documentation and dealing with all enquiries raised by the Buyer's Solicitors.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- In-depth experience of dealing with Right to Buy and residential conveyancing.
- Previous Local Government or Housing Association experience in a legal office.
- Experience in dealing with residential properties.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
