Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker with strong child protection experience? Our client, based in the Southwest Region, is looking for a Lead Child Protection Practitioner to support high-quality safeguarding practice.
Position: Lead Child Protection Practitioner – MACPT
Rate: £41 per hour
Contract Duration: 3-6 months
Purpose:
- You’ll provide specialist child protection expertise, supporting decision-making across the child protection process (Non-holding)
Job Responsibilities:
- Chair strategy discussions and Child Protection Conferences and oversee Section 47 enquiries.
- Provide advice and guidance to Family Help, Social Care and safeguarding partners.
- Support consistent decision-making around risk, significant harm and Section 47 thresholds.
- Contribute to reflective practice, audit, learning and wider safeguarding improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Previous Local Authority Children's Social Care experience is essential. Please do not apply if you have not worked within a Local Authority setting.
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience in statutory child protection.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures.
Essential: Enhanced DBS and ability to travel throughout the authority and surrounding area.
