Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy client based in Southampton, are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team and play a crucial role in their employee relations operations.

Position: HR Advisor

Rate: £24.53 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)

Contract Duration: Temporary (Aug 2026) with Possible Extension

Purpose: Facilitating the delivery of the Council’s Workforce Strategy, enabling the development of workforce capability and capacity and ensuring effective employee relations across the Council.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To provide first level professional advice and support to ensure changes to workforce structures and working practices are managed in accordance with Council policies.
  • To support the HR Business Partners in the implementation of appropriate HR and OD interventions that support employee engagement and improve performance outcomes.
  • To provide first level of HR support for employee relations queries and case work against Council policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • At least 1 year experience within a HR Advisor role or equivalent.
  • Experience managing high volumes of complex employee relations cases.
  • Member of CIPD (post grad level qualified or working towards).
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
