Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Hampshire, are looking for an experienced Housing Solicitor to join their team and play a crucial role within their resident services operations.
Position: Housing Solicitor
Rate: Up to £1,264 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Oct 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Mainly Remote
Purpose:
- To provide a high quality and timely legal service primarily to the Council’s resident Services Directorate. This will inlcude written and verbal advice, case management, drafting legal documents and representation/advocacy in all aspects Housing law.
- To be responsible for a personal caseload (managed through Iken CMS), including conduct of all legal functions related to those cases, including case handling, advice, advocacy, and representation, instructions to Counsel etc. as required.
- To advise, assist and deliver all aspects of Housing law including defending disrepair claims, possession action, injunctions and homelessness.
- To assist all other lawyers in the Legal Partnership, in the preparation and compilation of documents, proceedings, case files, advice notes, training, and similar matters.
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Bachelor’s degree in law or other equivalent qualifying degree together with Post-Graduate Degree in Legal Practice.
- To have at experience working as a Solicitor/barrister/Fellow CiLex with litigation rights in the relevant area of law served by the team allocated to, preferably in a public law context.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
