Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in East London, are looking for an experienced Highways & Traffic Engineer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Traffic Operations.

Rate: £30.87 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract Duration: 8 Months

Work arrangement: Fully Onsite

Job Responsibilities:

  • There are two Highway and Traffic engineer roles. One will be to deliver a mix of predominantly maintenance schemes with an element of traffic schemes.
  • The second position is to deliver the Bus Service Improvement Programme (BSIP) capital programme.
  • Maintenance engineer - Will be responsible for the whole process from receipt of brief to delivery, including site inspection, design, procurement, permits, delivery and site supervision. Mostly maintenance schemes resurfacing and/or reconstruction with some road safety schemes and technical support for larger highway civil schemes in design and delivery.
  • BSIP engineer - predominantly traffic engineering based solutions with some civil engineering maintenance works. Work to include asset and data analysis and arising design solutions to network delay hotspots, bus stop infrastructure improvements, footway improvements and interchange resurfacing.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent level of experience
  • An Incorporated Engineer (or working towards) with a HNC in Civil Engineering.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification and relevant experience.
  • Recognised Traffic Engineering qualification and relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year experience within a Highways & Traffic Engineer role or equivalent.
