Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southeast London, are looking for an experienced Head of Finance Business Partnering to join their team and play a crucial role in their Resources Directorate.
Position: Head of Finance Business Partnering
Rate: £560 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: Temp (Jan 2027) Possible Extension + Hybrid Working
Purpose: The Head of Finance Business Partnering is responsible for managing the service's finance/business partnering teams who provide financial management services to all the Council's departments.
Job Responsibilities:
- To inform the vision for the service that enables the council to meet its future challenges, fostering a culture of innovation.
- To proactively identify trends and changes in the operating environment (e.g. legislation, technology, policy, etc.) that could financially impact service delivery; provide advice and collaborate on potential solutions.
- To instigate, develop and support the attainment of alternative sources of funding that contribute towards identified funding gaps across the Council. This includes maximising the income generated through government grants and fees and charges.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Full membership of one of the professional accountancy bodies required by S.113 of the Local Government Finance act 1988 (preferably CIPFA).
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
