Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Wiltshire, are looking for an experienced Facilities Lead to join their team and play a crucial role in their facilities management operations.

Position: Facilities Lead

Rate: £229.19 per day (PAYE)

Contract Duration: Temp (Dec 2026) Possible Extension

Working Arrangement: Fully Onsite

Job Purpose: To lead, manage and deliver the Facilities Management function across the operational estate. The Facilities Management Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation, maintenance, safety and efficiency of the operational estate and facilities. The role will ensure all buildings are kept clean, secure, compliant and a functional working environment that supports service requirements, employee wellbeing, and cost-effective asset management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of buildings and facilities.
  • Manage the FM team, contractors, suppliers and service providers to ensure quality and value for money.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and statutory regulations.
  • Manage and set agreed budgets for income and expenditure in accordance with the Council’s Financial Regulations and Standing orders and assist the line manager in the preparation and monitoring of budgets for the services provided.
  • Management of the FM inbox- acknowledging, reporting, planning and ensuring rectifications of issues reported.

Job Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services or related discipline, or suitable compensatory experience.
  • Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Knowledge of statutory building regulations, fire safety, COSHH and environmental standards.
  • Experience of working in a complex, multi-disciplinary organisation and to lead, manage and motivate a team to achieve challenging and time driven outputs.
