Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy Local Authority in Essex, are looking for an experienced Technical Support Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Cemeteries & Bereavement Service.
Position: Technical Support Officer (Cemeteries)
Rate: £18.24 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Feb 2027) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose:
- To deliver a legal, safe, and compassionate cemeteries and bereavement service, ensuring compliance with statutory and council requirements, effective management of resources, and timely resolution of enquiries and issues, while developing staff and volunteer capacity and modelling integrity, resilience, and care in support of our communities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of the Council’s cemeteries, memorials, and bereavement services through effective day-to-day technical and operational activity.
- Provide accurate technical advice and support to colleagues and assist with coordinating workloads and operational delivery across the service.
- Support the maintenance of accurate records of burials, grave plots, memorials, and related documentation in compliance with statutory and Council requirements.
- To act as a point of contact for internal services regarding cemeteries and bereavement related matters, providing guidance within defined procedures and escalating issues where required.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Understanding of administrative and coordination processes that support effective cemetery and bereavement service operations.
- Experience in an administrative, coordination, or support role within a service delivery environment.
