Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Essex, are looking for an experienced Recycling Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their waste reduction operations.
Position: Recycling Officer
Rate: £30 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: Temp (Feb 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Fully On-site
Job Purpose:
- Manage, promote, and improve local waste reduction and recycling programs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Kerbside compliance monitoring of our waste and recycling contractor.
- Customer and contractor engagement and education to promote all aspects of recycling and waste minimisation.
- Handling public contact via telephone and emails, as well as undertaking administrative and operational tasks to support the effective and efficient operation of the Council waste and recycling service.
- Introducing, supporting and promoting food waste collection provisions to communal properties.
- Auditing of communal bin stores sites and installation of additional recycling provisions, customer engagement and education.
Job Requirements:
- Background experience in waste management is essential.
- Builds wide and effective networks of contacts inside and outside the organisation.
- Full driving licence essential and access to personal vehicle.
