Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in West Yorkshire, are looking for an experienced Elected Member Skills & Training Needs Assessor to join their team and play a crucial role within their human resources operations.
Position: Elected Member Skills & Training Needs Assessor
Rate: £24.81 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (Aug 2026) Possible Extension
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Job Purpose: To complete evaluations of the digital skills and development needs of newly elected councilors.
Job Duties:
- The role will focus on supporting elected members to effectively use the Microsoft 365 suite and Council systems.
- This will include identifying gaps in skills, current assessment of knowledge, previous experience, confidence, and understanding of the dedicated support functions available.
- Undertake skills and capability assessments using surveys (MS Forms), face to face interviews and other one-to-one and group sessions.
- Produce a clear and accessible training needs analysis for all elected members.
- Assess confidence and capabilities in:
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel)
- The Council’s dedicated Member Casework system
- The organisational Learning Management System (LMS)
- The Elected Member’s IT support function.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
- Experience of undertaking training needs analysis or skills assessments, ideally in a digital or systems-based setting.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
